“Fantastic Four Hundred And Thirty-Six Quadrillion”

The plan was simple. All that The Fantastic Four needed was a time machine, heat shielding to last 2.4 nanoseconds at temperatures higher than ever measured, and a computer brain as fast as 2.3 nanoseconds. That’s just what one needs to time jump back four hundred and thirty-six quadrillion seconds to the Big Bang event and expose Ben to gamma radiation. Wait, what?

Are Reed, Sue, Johnny, and the others really going to follow through with Valeria’s plan? She is a super genius, just like her dad, but are there any flaws in her theory? Like Johnny always says “Build On!” Okay, sounds simple enough.

Who’s going to volunteer to be the brain behind operating the time machine? What exactly is hafnium-carbonitride mixed-anion? Is this the last hope for Benjamin Grimm to regain his powers? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

We have come to the end of Volume Seven of Ryan North’s run on Fantastic Four. No worries, Volume 08 has just released this week with a promise of something completely different for our favorite superhero family. What that is, I have no idea. Ryan North will continue as head writer for the series for the foreseeable future.

With Disney Studios releasing the movie adaptation this year, maybe the comic book will follow in that direction. All I know is that Ryan North did a superior job writing for the series than Dan Slott. I’m not saying Ryan is perfect here, as I disliked some of the woke agenda things he shoehorned in, but he has interesting ideas, and the stories never became stale.

As a series overall, I did want to give it five stars across the board. However, there were a few things that I felt Ryan North missed the boat on. The main thing was the beta-male Ben personality. That was a big flub on his part. There is plenty of source material showing Ben in a much more manly state. For that, I give the series four out of five stars.

The final issue, here, I give a rock-solid four stars. This was a very nice ending for Volume seven as a whole, and it sets up Ben for his solo series. For avid Fantastic Four fans, you have to agree this run was very good. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into Volume Eight.
