In the dating sim Date Everything! there are over 100 available Dateables, or non-playable characters, to romance. With a list that big, the developers don’t expect players to narrow down the romance to only one choice, but some of the Dateables also don’t leave things at just loving the player character. Although there are only a handful of in-game opportunities to reach a polyamorous relationship outcome, as most of the characters focus on more straightforward story arcs, the representation is still there.
ScreenRant‘s review of Date Everything! explored how the game lets you fall in love with nearly all 100 Dateables as long as you choose the right dialogue options. However, while talking to these characters, sometimes it is pretty clear that a couple of these NPCs may already be in relationships with each other. Though I believed this meant that either they would not be romanceable or that I would have to steal them away, actually, these situations are opportunities for the game to explore polyamory.
How Relationships Work In Date Everything!
Finding Love In The Game With Over 100 NPCs
Each of the 100+ characters in the cozy game, Date Everything!, can have their story arcs end with a relationship status of Love, Friendship, or Hate. In order to have a love or friendship option, you have to be careful to choose the correct dialogue options for that character to match with their personality and make sure not to offend them. In some cases, love comes easily. Others may take a bit of careful maneuvering to not say the wrong thing.

How To Get Into The Attic In Date Everything!
Several of the Date Everything! dateables are waiting for you to find them in the attic, but with a locked door, it can be tricky to get inside.
Most of the time, each of these relationships are focused only on the specific character, or group of characters in cases like the Hanks, and the player’s character. However, there are a few situations in the game where, if you can reach a love level with both Dateables, there is a chance for a polyamorous relationship where all three members of the group will love each other equally. This can even result in specific dialogues where the relationship is mentioned.
Every Date Everything! Polyamorous Relationship
Couples With Polyamory Ending Options
Reaching Love status with each of the necessary Dateables isn’t the only thing needed to trigger the specific polyamory option. You can simply have both of the Dateables love you separately and not have the added communication that denotes a polyamorous relationship. In order to get the polyamory option, each couple has their own requirements. Also, no matter what, it is never possible to reach polyamory if either of the romance options hates the player’s character.

How To Achieve |
---|---|
Drysdale & Washford |
Drysdale will need to apologize to Washford before the two can make up at all. This requires some careful answers while talking to both of them. It is entirely possible to have them each love the main character separately before they make up, and still have the polyamorous relationship option after the apology. |
Celia & Florence |
There is a bit of a mysterious pyramid scheme going on in the household, and Celia and Florence must have this questline completed before the player’s character can suggest polyamory. Due to the political nature of their storylines, the dialogue option that you are looking for is “Any chance we could make this a 3-party system?” |
Harper & Dirk |
Harper and Dirk have a tumultuous relationship, and need a good bit of couples therapy before they can even keep up their own relationship, much less bring another person into it. Helping the two come together and find love for each other first will be required before the option is available. |
Abel & Dasha |
TBD – Although there are rumors of Abel and Dasha allowing for a polyamorous relationship, at the time of writing I have not been able to see how this storyline is triggered. |
Though it can be a bit of extra work to reach this level of relationship status, it is interesting to see how the relationship dynamic is played out with the love between three characters, including how it can be mentioned in seemingly unconnected conversations in the game. Of course, no graphic sexual scenes are shown anywhere in Date Everything! so this dynamic simply adds a bit more narrative lines to the game.
