It’s been two patience-testing years, but we’ve finally reunited with Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us season 2 – and it’s safe to say that the show has thrown us back in at the deep end.

Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann pre-warned us that they’d played fast and loose with the game’s chronology, which is told deliberately out of sync in order to pack the hardest emotional punch, when adapting it for the small screen. From the trailer, we already know that Westworld star Jeffrey Wright is set to show up at some point as Isaac, a character he voiced in the game who doesn’t show up until quite a ways in.
