“Keys Of Knowledge: Prehistoric Americans – The Mayans”

How mighty were the prehistoric Mayans? With the farming of maize corn, their people built an empire of large temple cities which rivaled those of the ancient Egyptians. Don’t wait! You need to read these Keys of Knowledge for all the facts!

“Pearl From The Past”

A poisonous cloud system has enveloped the skies over N’yark and the source emits from across the Huzon river. As a precaution, Mindor recommends that his family take shelter in the underground tunnels sprawling beneath the post-apocalyptic cityscape. Unfortunately, the poisoned air seeps downward through the rust and decay of centuries-old ventilation systems. This leaves Samson, Sharmaine, and her father little choice. They must seek out one of the last remaining fallout bunkers hidden deep within the rubble and ruin of the subways.

“The Desperate Mission”

Deep beneath the ruins of N’Yark, Dr. John Pitt, a scientist from the 20th century, has just awakened from a suspended state of animation. As Mindor and Samson try to help the neurotic doctor adapt to his new surroundings, Sharmaine keeps a watchful eye upon the man. Can a mind formed centuries ago accept the reality of this post-apocalyptic ruin it helped create? That question lays heavy on all of them.

Hours later the group finds their way back up to the broken streets above. As they move forward with a plan to stop the Jerz shore chemical fires, Dr. Pitt had agreed to join their task. With a detailed map now at their disposal, Mindor knows the exact location of the poisoned fires. The only question is whether the Mighty Samson can protect them from a host of mutant plants and animals who now dominate the region.

“Key Of Knowledge: Prehistoric Americans – Everyday Life Of The Americans”

Now that we know the root culture of the Mayans, Gold Key exposes their exploration, sports, and beauty secrets. But who did they pray to? Collect the book to find out!

Reviewer Notes

The Mighty Samson No.02 is another fun romp through the post-apocalyptic world of tomorrow. Or, how the writers at Western Publishing envisioned it to be back in 1965. I will admit there is little depth in the writing, as the book is written for children. However, there are still very solid scientific facts and history to be learned here.

The best part of the series so far, in my adult opinion, is the various mutant plants and animals depicted here. Yeah, sure spiders and lizards have no chance of combining DNA via nuclear radiation, but the idea is fun to think about. I give this issue of Samson four out of five stars!
