Nvidia is giving gamers plenty to think about as we head into the weekend. The graphics card maker teased its upcoming GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs on X with the tagline: “GeForce at CES 2025. Celebrate. Play. Watch.” The image includes the number 50 in Nvidia’s trademark green, and the post links to a page on Nvidia’s site covering celebratory activities from now until Jensen Huang delivers the keynote at CES on Jan. 6. Huang will almost certainly launch four new RTX 50-series GPUs during the keynote.

The first two RTX 50-series cards will be the RTX 5090 and 5080. As for the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070, it’s entirely possible that Nvidia will make all four cards available to retailers at the same time. Wishful thinking? Maybe, but Nvidia is clearly aiming for a big splash with its next generation of gaming GPUs. Putting four cards out at once would be quite the mic drop.

Nvidia is always secretive and especially so in the lead-up to big announcements, so we have more questions than answers as we head into the end of the year. What we (are pretty sure we) know is that the RTX 5090 will have 32GB of RAM, while the 5080 will have 16GB and the 5070 GPUs will have 12GB.

We expect Nvidia to follow the same general strategy for its RTX 50 Blackwell GPUs as it did for the RTX 40 Ada Lovelace: The RTX 5090 will be much more powerful than the RTX 5080 and lower cards. Nvidia’s flagship card is often a gaming beast with a price tag to match.

In the lead-up to CES, Nvidia is celebrating with “25 Years of #GeForceGreats.” The company is encouraging gamers to share their thoughts on the gaming greats from the past quarter-century. Nvidia’s also offering prizes and launching GeForce LAN 50, which will be a—you guessed it—50-hour long LAN event. After remembering the good moments of the past and enjoying playing games with the present hardware, Nvidia wants to get gamers pumped up about the next generation of cards.

Should you want to join the LAN 50, you can visit an in-person event in Beijing, Berlin, Las Vegas, or Taipei, or you can play online. Games get underway at 4:30 PT, Jan. 4.
