“King Conan: The Ensorcelled – Part One”
It is a time of unrest between two kingdoms. As Conan, now king of all Aquilonia, arrives in the Borderlands to negotiate peace with the Brythunians, witches have reaped havoc on their local villages. Or, so King Fabiano claims.
Now, Conan and his Black Dragons are tasked with capturing a witch responsible for sending scores of Brythunian warriors to a hellish grave. Without her death, no peace could last between their states. The only question is if Conan and his men will be any more successful than those who already died trying to kill the Witch of Graaskal.
“Conan: Damn Thing In The Water”
In Conan’s youth, there was a pool of clean effervescent water. As he approached to drink his fill, an Eldritch horror awaited within the nearby reeds. On this day, the Cimmerian would learn not to trust anything, including the tranquil.
“Conan: Forged”
A nail is not a sword, it is a start.” These were the words of Conan’s father on the day the Zigarans visited his village. These people were nomads, entertainers, and at times sellswords. That evening, as Conan slaved away forging a bracelet of steel, the Cimmerians gathered to drink and dance.
Why would his father wish for a bracelet? Conan was no scholar, but he was old enough to understand the power of beauty and how women used it to seduce. Had his father become enthralled by the Zigaran dancer woman? Over the next few hours, Conan would soon find out.
Reviewer Notes
The last two issues of Savage Sword of Conan have been a bit lackluster, in my opinion. However, issue #5 has a really exciting story set in the King Conan years. Witches, witch hunters, blood, gore, this one has everything needed for a Hyborian Age adventure. Robert E. Howard would be proud of this one. I give Titan Comics’ latest release five out of five stars.
