Magdalena Bay have tapped Grimes for a rework of the Imaginal Disk single “Image.” The Los Angeles duo of Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin will also perform the original song tomorrow (October 30) on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, making their late-night television debut. Imaginal Disk—Tenenbaum and Lewin’s sophomore LP as Magdalena Bay—arrived in August, following the release of “Death & Romance,” “Image,” “Tunnel Vision,” and “That’s My Floor.” Having wrapped up a run of U.S. dates, their Imaginal Mystery Tour will continue in Europe next month.
Grimes has not released any solo music this year, but she did appear on the PBS series A Brief History of the Future to discuss artificial intelligence in music.
