The annual alternative music festival is set to go on this weekend (October 19 and 20) at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Nevada. They unveiled their lineup last year, with My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Jimmy Eat World set to play their classic albums in full.
Last week, The All American Rejects announced that they would no longer be playing When We Were Young as the festival’s management “won’t be able to accommodate” them.
In a statement shared to Instagram, they wrote: “We have spent months tirelessly preparing a once-in-a-lifetime show that we were so excited to bring to you. However, there has been a management change within the WWWY operation, and they are no longer able to accommodate us in the previously agreed upon line-up, which has made it impossible for us to continue.”
They went on to say: “We are especially devastated to not get to play for those of you who are travelling across the glove to witness the visual and sonic spectacle we have been brewing up in our cauldron. We’d like to apologise to our amazing crew who have been working around the clock to make magic happen.”
Last year’s edition of When We Were Young saw Avril Lavigne and All Time Low teaming up to perform Lavigne’s hit ‘Sk8er Boi’. Tony Hawk also joined Goldfinger to perform ‘Superman’ at the bash.
