The Distillers have dropped out of When We Were Young festival set for this weekend and offered their fans compensation.

Frontwoman Brody Dalle took to her official Instagram account to announce that the band had to cancel their performance at the music bash. “As some of you might know by now, we are not playing when we were young festival. We are sad not to and we are sorry for any inconvenience or upset this has caused you,” began the caption of her post.

“We weren’t able to announce until the festival put their schedule up, the festival doesn’t offer refunds. If you’re only going because of us and in lieu of a refund, please dm the distillers Instagram your name, a photo of your tickets and the town you live in, we will put you on our guest list for a show in your town or the town of your choice. Please keep your tickets for validation.”

The annual alternative music festival is set to go on this weekend (October 19 and 20) at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Nevada. They unveiled their lineup last year, with My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Jimmy Eat World set to play their classic albums in full.

Last week, The All American Rejects announced that they would no longer be playing When We Were Young as the festival’s management “won’t be able to accommodate” them.

In a statement shared to Instagram, they wrote: “We have spent months tirelessly preparing a once-in-a-lifetime show that we were so excited to bring to you. However, there has been a management change within the WWWY operation, and they are no longer able to accommodate us in the previously agreed upon line-up, which has made it impossible for us to continue.”

They went on to say: “We are especially devastated to not get to play for those of you who are travelling across the glove to witness the visual and sonic spectacle we have been brewing up in our cauldron. We’d like to apologise to our amazing crew who have been working around the clock to make magic happen.”

Last year’s edition of When We Were Young saw Avril Lavigne and All Time Low teaming up to perform Lavigne’s hit ‘Sk8er Boi’. Tony Hawk also joined Goldfinger to perform ‘Superman’ at the bash.
