MJ Lenderman has postponed the first three dates of his upcoming tour in support of Manning Fireworks due to “the ongoing natural disaster and humanitarian crisis in Western North Carolina as a result of Hurricane Helene, where most of MJ Lenderman’s band and their families are based,” reads his Instagram post. Severe damage from Hurricane Helene flooding has left thousands without power in Western North Carolina, destroyed roads, and totaled houses and businesses.

“Our tour will now begin this Sunday in Knoxville,” the post continues. “Please stay tuned for additional information regarding rescheduled shows for Atlanta and Nashville.” Lenderman, an Asheville native, also shared links to local disaster relief mutual aid and organizations on the ground that he trusts, should fans want to donate to help those affected by the hurricane.

The majority of Lenderman’s extensive tour is unaffected. His Manning Fireworks route now begins on October 6, in Knoxville, Tennessee, and keeps Lenderman and his band on the road on through to April of next year. Opening selects concerts are Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band, Hollow Hand, Wild Pink, This Is Lorelei, and Nap Eyes.

Last month, MJ Lenderman & the Wind performed the Manning Fireworks single “Wristwatch” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. It was his late-night television solo debut, and Lenderman was also accompanied by his Wednesday bandmate Karly Hartzman on backup vocals and tambourine for the experience.
