“Johnny Storm Gets Choked By An Alien In This One”
Quarks! The one thing the new Sorcerer Supreme had no dominion over. Originally discovered in 1991, the WTF particle, later renamed the OMG particle to make the term more school science fair friendly, returned to Earth. There is one difference this time; mass!
Naturally, each OMG particle follows the Hitherto-rare laws of science, requiring each molecule to break up into harmless protons when colliding with another particle. Come on, it’s simple science! This new wave of OMG had people saying WTF because the particles forgot to disassemble, hitting people and nearby buildings like a ton of bricks. This is the story of a simple hot head who turned into a world-class scientific paraphraser.
Reviewer Notes
Ryan North and Carlos Gómez continue to bring the fans unique storylines with Easter Egg references to the classic run. In this issue the Fantastic Four are dealing with the after effects of the Blood Hunt but quickly become sidetracked by a threat from outer space. The amount of laughs and scientific jargon are equally distributed along the so-called bell curve.
I loved the epic, Avengers-movie inspired, superhero group pose at the beginning of this. N’kalla and Jo-Venn are quite impressive, even if their code names have already been taken. If you’re a fan of volume one, you will want this comic book because it has a bunch of old vehicle references. I give No.23 four out of five stars.
