September still has a few more weeks before we fully get into Halloween. But that doesn’t mean there is a shortage of horror movies being released till then. And there are some big ones yet to come. We have put together a list of 11 that caught our iHorror eye so we thought we should share them with you just in case you have nothing else to do for the next two weeks.

First, on September 19 there is the theatrical limited re-release of The Babadook (2014). This film could arguably be considered the one that started the “elevated horror” movement. It is definitely a horror movie, but the scares are more psychological than physical.

Apartment 7A (Streaming on Paramount+)

An ambitious young dancer Terry Gionoffrio (Julia Garner, Ozark) dreams of fame and fortune in New York City, but after suffering a devastating injury, an older, wealthy couple welcomes her into their home in the luxury apartment building the Bramford. When fellow resident and influential Broadway producer (Jim Sturgess, Across the Universe) offers her another chance at fame, it seems that all her dreams are finally coming true. However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself.

Les Hackel is a guy down on his luck who wakes to find an explosive device has been implanted in his neck. He must carry out heinous crimes in order to stay alive while trying to identify the mastermind manipulating the now twisted and strange world around him.

Sleep (limited theatrical)

A pregnant wife who becomes worried about her husband’s sleeping habits. What starts out as some light sleep-talking soon escalates to unexpectedly grotesque behavior. They consult a sleep clinic without success and as his nightmarish behavior escalates, they desperately seek help from a shaman.
