Drake has quoted rival Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Not Like Us’ in response to an impersonator dancing along to ‘Hotline Bling’ – see more below.

This past weekend, footage of a Drake impersonator went viral on social media for dancing along to ‘Hotline Bling’ at a boxing event in New York. Soon, the real Drake took to social media to react to the clip, writing out a lyric from Lamar’s diss track ‘Not Like Us’.

“Sometimes you gotta pop out,” Drake wrote on an Instagram Story. You can see a recording of the soon-to-be expired Instagram Story below, courtesy of NFR Podcast on X (formerly Twitter).

Drake has remained active since his exchange of diss tracks with Kendrick Lamar earlier this year. In a recent interview with People, Drake’s collaborator Gordo commented on the situation and said the rapper remained undeterred by it all.

“He’s been past it… Ever since all this has happened… I’ve seen him happier. It’s really weird. He’s pretty jolly… The internet makes it seem like, ‘Oh, that photo, he’s all sad and shit.’ That’s just a bad photo from a bad camera,” he said. But because it’s him, it’s put under a magnifying glass like, “Oh, look at his eyes. He’s looking a little droopy. He hasn’t slept.” But the guy’s been happy as shit, to be honest. He’s chilling.”

Drake most recently appeared on two new songs from Gordo’s new album ‘Diamante’, ‘Sideways’ and ‘Healing’.

Last week, Drake shared footage of his flooded mansion, following torrential rain hitting Toronto in recent days. News that Drake’s mansion had flooded arrived just days after it was revealed that the rapper had allowed fans to take a virtual tour of the residence thanks to a new feature on his merch website.

Outside of the recent flooding, his home also made headlines earlier this year, when a man was arrested for attempting to break into the building, just a day after a shooting took place outside the residence – which followed his house being on the cover of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’.
