“The Voodoo-Man!”
Dracula has returned to the cobblestone streets of Covent Garden, a shopping district of old London, to seek those who had tried to destroy him. The night air is thick with icy smog, but for the undead this is a welcome nuisance. Vampires often use the weather to their advantage when hunting prey. As for tonight, the Lord of Vampires is on a safari of sorts. A safari of revenge!
Several blocks to the north, a gang of biker hoodlums have breached the front doors of the Whitehall Trust of London. Inside the bank, Oliver Gordon is busy closing out the books when several of the bikers storm into his office. Oliver is shocked when he learns the true purpose of the thugs’ invasion. They are there to deliver a message from one of his old clients, one Jason Faust, a man Oliver Gordon had left destitute and on a deathbed.

Reviewer Notes
Only a Marvel Comics writer such as Marv Wolfman could dream up the robotic iron lung and voodoo doll combination. I mean, this is classic camp at its finest. Dracula shows his true weakness in this issue as he displays a hint of honor towards Quincy Harker. Yes, Dracula is there to kill those who are about to murder the vampire hunter, but that still counts. Right?
Issue eleven of Tomb of Dracula has plenty of action and weirdness to entertain anyone that likes vampires, robots, or voodoo magic. What else could a reader ask for? Oh, don’t forget the cool chopper motorcycles ridden by the biker gang. They don’t make them like this anymore.
The only thing I thought could have been done better here was the biker gang art. In the previous issues, the gang was made up of young twenty-somethings, but here artist Gene Colan drew them to look like old men in their mid to late thirties. Maybe it was the handlebar mustaches? Never trust a handlebar mustache.
I loved this issue! Forget gorillas, robots and Voodoo equal ratings! With that said, I’m giving this book five out of five stars.
