“Too Many Happy Endings!”

Some boys want to be superheroes. Some girlfriends want to date superheroes. For Jack Biceps and his gal, Shirlee, nothing could be further from the truth. Say hello to Gothamville’s number one teenage supervillain, Sinistro, Boy Fiend. Are the likes of Blue Beetle and Peacemaker ready for this level of evil genius?

“Sinistro And The Superguys!”

If it’s one thing Sinistro hates, it’s those super-buttinskis. Can’t a bankrobber even rob anymore? Whatever the Boy Fiend can do to aid criminals in Gothamville, he’s willing to do it! Just don’t call Captain USA names. Sinistro is still paying for his dental bill.

“Sinistro’s Evil Triumph!”

Has he done it? Has Sinistro, Boy Fiend, vanquished his arch enemies? Super Guy is down. Yes. Green Spider and Blue Beetle are indisposed. Yes. Yes. Now Peacemaker is knee-deep in sewage. Yes! But who will believe a teenager when the chips are down and the truth comes out?

Reviewer Notes

Who has two thumbs and a new favorite supervillain? This guy! I know little about Charlton Comics list of superheroes, but I do know Sinistro, Boy Fiend, is the most entertaining supervillain I’ve read in a Charlton series so far. You may be asking yourself, “Who is he?” “What are his superpowers?” Jack Biceps is just your average, everyday, all-American boy with an overbearing mother. That, and super-level genius and narcissism.

I would compare him to an evil version of DC Comics’ Batman, but stuck in Robin’s body. The gadgets, the verbalisms—they are all there, tied up in a pretty little bow called Shirlee Peech. His girlfriend must have been taking lessons from Harley Quinn, or is it the other way around?

I don’t know that for sure. I do know that issue three of Charlton Premiere gets four out of five stars from me. I might be on the lookout for more books with Sinistro. Who am I kidding? I definitely will.
