My Rating

Rating: 4 out of 5.

“The Fog – Part 03”

The Fog has returned to Antonio Bay and this time there is no escape. For those who were spared during the 1980 massacre are now being slaughtered systematically one by one. As the children of Stevie Wayne and Nick Castle search for answers to their past, a hooded stranger has called upon the murdered souls of Captain Blake and the leper colonists to attack once again.

Will old police reports from 1980 shed light on occult activity surrounding old John Machen? Can Annie Castle and her research team recover the gold cross which Father Malone buried at the Devil’s Mark? What strange sickness has overcome Jamie Wayne as her family barricades themselves in their home waiting for the Fog to disappear? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

Let the bodies hit the floor as the kill count continues to rise. I’m a huge fan of the original movie by John Carpenter, so as writer Steve Ekstrom continues fills in missing pieces to the puzzle, it’s like a surprise party and Christmas morning all rolled into one. A few of the minor characters in the movie have become much more relevant here in the comic book. I never did trust John Houseman’s character Mr. Machen. That old ghost story telling creep!

If you are a fan of the original movie, definitely check this one out. I’m not 100% sure this story is sanctioned by John Carpenter, but its very well written. I’m giving Issue 03 of Sumerian Comics “the Fog” four out of five stars. I would pay to see a live action movie version of this. Would you?
