@Otoemetry I don’t think they were meaning TTYD was the first Paper Mario. They were specifically talking about the style of Paper Mario that 64 and TTYD had, cos after TTYD the RPG elements are pretty much non existent. Think they were just meaning they wanted to go back to the template that 64 set and that TTYD continued with and specifically mentioned 64 being quite special to them.
As for me, I’m excited by TTYD’s success. genuinely hope the success means we get proper 64/TTYD style Paper Mario back myself.
