Put in a stake in our hearts: The sixth season of vampire comedy series What We Do in the Shadows” will be its last according to Vulture.

The outlet confirmed that begins production on its sixth season next month, and it’ll be the last season for the effortlessly charming vampire roommates.

“What We Do in the Shadows” wrapped its fifth season earlier this summer.

The fifth season picked up after “Nandor feels his familiar (and sometimes friend) Guillermo slipping away as he seems to be spending much more time with Laszlo. Nadja, suffering the effects of a previously-undiagnosed supernatural hex, reconnects with her family — or at least, a family — from the Old Country. Colin pursues the path of so many energy vampires before him by running for political office and The Guide tries to figure out where she fits in as the relative newcomer to this tightly-knit group.”

More than just the usual shenanigans, Guillermo continued his journey toward vampirism in a suitably hysterical way.

Based on the feature film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, the series documents the nightly exploits of vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) as they navigate the modern world of Staten Island with the help of their human familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén).

In the season five finale, which aired in August, “The season five finale, which aired in August, “The housemates are invited for a weekend away at the home of a mysterious, illustrious vampire.”

Clement ad Waititi executive produce, along with Paul SimmsSam JohnsonGarrett Basch, and Eli Bush. FX Production produces.

“What We Do in the Shadows” has, so far, garnered multiple Emmy nominations, including for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Moreover, it’s given breakout roles for a charming cast, with Harvey Guillén and Kayvan Novak both earning nominations for their roles in the series.

While we still have that sixth and final season to hang with this motley vampire bunch, it’s sad day. At least this means the series will receive a proper conclusion.

Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
