Earlier this week I had the opportunity to sit in a ‘fireside chat’ with Dave Beré, VP of Pop! Yourself and Retail at Funko where all things Pop! Yourself were discussed.

Launched online earlier this year, the Pop! Yourself program at funko.com lets fans of Funko Pop!s design themselves as a Funko Pop! and have it custom made and shipped direct to their door. Since it’s launch, this has been the #1 product on Funko’s site and they are primed for huge things this holiday season and beyond.

The design process is easy enough, you choose which body you want (male presenting, female presenting or the new baby), your skin color, eye lashes or no eye lashes, your hair style and color (and hat!), eyewear, facial hair, clothing and two accessory items. You can also choose to add “Buddies” to your Pop! – a selection of cats, dogs and (just for Halloween) a ghost. Finally you give yourself a name which will be printed on your Pop!’s custom box. Once you’re through checkout – your Pop! will be at your doorstep before you know it.

With such a huge fanbase for Pop! Vinyls, it’s clear that Pop! Yourself provides a way to get yourself (or a loved one) a one of a kind item. But Funko isn’t resting on what’s available now – there are big plans for the Pop! Yourself platform. From additional seasonal offerings (Halloween items are available now and an Elf costume will be available for the holidays) to a wider range of accessory items – new options for the platfrom will be continually offered. And soon licensed properties will be available on Pop! yourself. While no specific items were available – just think of your own Pop! with a lightsaber or Cap’s shield. This will open up a new way to express your fandom.

And if you’re wanting have some online fun check you the Pop! Yourself filter on TikTok and record your videos as your Pop! Self!
