A24 hit big with their acclaimed horror movie Talk to Me earlier this year, which is now available on Digital outlets with a 4K and Blu-ray release set for October 3, 2023.
In celebration of the film’s Digital release today, A24 has also put up for grabs a screen-accurate replica of the “Party Hand” from Talk to Me, and it’s available now in their shop!
In the film, the mysterious prop is said to be the severed, embalmed hand of a powerful medium, and it’s used to conjure spirits. The basic gist is that you hold the hand and speak the words “talk to me” aloud, inviting in whatever the hell decides to come through from the other side. From there, you can let go of the hand or let the spirit inside of you. The latter option is essentially the film’s unique version of getting high, becoming something of a viral party game.
The version of the “party hand” you can buy from A24’s online shop is intended to be used as a smoking device (or incense burner), but it also makes a damn fine display piece.
“Designed by our friends at Craighill, the life-sized ceramic Talk to Me Party Hand is the only smoking device (or incense burner!) that opens the door to the other side.”
The hand weighs 3 pounds, measuring 8.5″ H x 8.5″ L x 4″ D.
You can grab your own for $110 right now! These will ship by November 30.
The brutal terror of Talk to Me unfolds when “a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand; they become hooked on the new thrill until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.” Sophia Wilde, Miranda Otto, Alexandra Jensen, Joe Bird, Otis Djanji, and Zoe Terakes star in the A24 horror hit.
In her Sundance review for BD, Meagan Navarro wrote, “Talk to Me delivers an intense, nightmarish horror movie that’ll leave you breathless.” Her review continued, “There’s a refreshing ruthlessness to this cautionary tale that plays like a surge of adrenaline; it makes for one hell of an introduction to Danny and Michael Philippou’s brand of horror.”
And yes, a sequel – Talk 2 Me – has already been ordered by A24.
