Get ready to return to Clover Bite’s surreal world of GRIME with the sequel, GRIME II. Currently in development for PC via Steam, the Soulslike Metroidvania doesn’t have a release date as of yet. Players will once again assume the role of a Formless, able to absorb creatures and their abilities.

Players will venture into a new and mysterious land in the GRIME universe, where danger and wonder await around every corner. You’ll have to use your surroundings in tandem with your summoned molds to overcome deadly enemies and epic bosses, all the while exploring a deep world full of diverse cultures and characters.

Once again, players will be able to choose their own playstyle in GRIME II using a variety of abilities and weapons. This time around, you can even use summons of absorbed foes. You’ll once again have to master your parrying in order to thwart enemy attacks, while also using your hand-tendrils to grasp and absorb them, drawing you closer to learning their shape. You can also take advantage of the environment around you to damage foes, though they can easily do the same to you.

Meanwhile, for those Switch fans who have been waiting for what seems like forever for the Switch port of GRIME, Clover Bite provided an update, apologizing for the delay. “It has been a lot, and I mean A LOT of work to get the port to where it is now, but we are finally getting ready for launch,” reads the update.

As for when the port will launch, it’s not clear. Clover Bite says that it will be released around the same time as the third DLC for GRIME. The latest DLC, “Tinge of Terror”, was released back in June.

For now, GRIME can be picked up on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.
