Speculation has run wild over the past weeks as fans made their guesses as to what this year’s San Diego Comic Con Marvel Legends exclusive would be—but when Hasbro finally dropped the curtain this week, it turned out that the item was something I hadn’t heard a single collector guess. Launching next week and available online after the show, it’s the SDCC 2023 Marvel legends Deadpool & Bob Agent of Hydra figures two-pack! Does this surprise pick get you psyched up, Marvel collectors?

Deadpool hit his peak of popularity about 5-7 years ago–and after a tidal wave of comics and toys were released in mass in that era, Deadpool has been receiving a bit less fanfare ever since.

It definitely feels like strange times when we haven’t had a Hasbro Deadpool figure on the pegs in over a year, but Wade is making a comeback next week as Hasbro’s Marvel Legends headliner in this year’s hotly-anticipated SDCC exclusive set!

I don’t think anyone would try to argue that Deadpool hadn’t had his share of very nice Marvel Legends 6” figures over the years, and the newest version coming out is built upon one of the more popular modern molds out there.

San Diego Comic Con 2023 Hasbro Deadpool 6 Inch Figure

Utilizing the fan-favorite Renew Your Vows Spider-Man body mold, this SDCC Deadpool features pin-less articulation all over, as well as coveted swivel toes. I’m not 100% convinced this mold is bulky enough for Wade, but there’s no question it gives Deadpool an extreme level of articulation for dynamic poses.

Joining Deadpool will be Bob, Agent of HYDRA, the 2007 Fabian Nicieza-created comic relief character. I loved the crap out of Bob in the Cable & Deadpool series a decade and a half ago, but I feel like he’s gotten a bit stale since through overexposure. I think he makes a fun sidekick for Deadpool here, and I think Comic Con is the right venue for a niche character like this, but I don’t feel as excited as I would have a decade and a half ago.

If the head for the Bob figure looks familiar to you, it may be because it was first released packed in with the ML Deadpool Scooter a few years back (shown above).

Marvel Legends SDCC 2023 Deadpool Bob Accessories

In addition, Deadpool and Bob will be packing an unheard of, insane assortment of 28 accessories. They aren’t necessarily new accessories (in fact, you very likely may recognize them all), but the huge load out of guns, sais, swords with painted hilts, alternate hands, nunchucks, a bo staff, a Hydra suitcase and more all add to the set. A crazy amount of poses and displays can be achieved with all this neat stuff, recycled or not. And the TMNT weapons being painted with the signature color of each respective Ninja Turtle is just too fun!

Attendees at the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con will be able to receive a one-time-use code at the show to pre-order the Deadpool and Bob set online at that time, and non-attendees will be able to order limited quantities after the end of SDCC. The set will not be available for pickup at the event.

What do you think, Deadpool fans? Is this a must-have Hasbro Wade Wilson item, or are you content with the Deadpool(s) you already have?
