San Diego Comic-Con is trying to return to form this summer—but while a lot of major exhibitors and movie panels aren’t ready to come back just yet, many toy and collectible companies’ exclusives are! And two of the coolest ones are themed to the X-Men ‘92 cartoon: the X-Men Animated 1/6 Logan and Magneto variant figures from Mondo have now been revealed and go up for sale at the con and online next week!

SDCC 2023 Exclusives Mondo Magneto and Logan Wolverine Figures 1/6 X-Men TAS

SDCC was flying higher than ever before until the pandemic hit in 2020, and it’s been struggling to get back its footing ever since. SDCC 2022 was the start of the rebound, and the organizers are hoping this year will be bigger still.

Collectibles companies are hoping the same, as there are already more exclusives lined up for this year than last.

Mondo is clearly hoping for a strong turnout, as they have their most expansive variety of SDCC sixth scale Exclusives ever set for the show: four 1:6 figures, including two for their popular X-Men Animated Series!

First up, there’s a new 1/6 Logan figure, giving us the most iconic X-Men character of all-time in his well-known civilian guise. Despite the popularity of Wolverine, civilian Logan figures haveX-Men Animated Wolverine Logan Mondo Exclusive SDCC 2023 Figure LE 1500 semi-struggled since the Toybiz days of the 90s, so I think making this version of Wolvey a limited edition of 1500 pieces makes good sense. Die-hard SDCC goers may want it, but the greater non-convention attendee less so.

Mondo Logan definitely ain’t cheap at the $215 price-point, but for a limited-run exclusive item of this size and quality, I think that pricing feels pretty fair.

Mondo Logan 12 Inch Figure and Accessories SDCC 202 Exclusive

The Logan Mondo SDCC 2023 exclusive comes with an enviable spread of accessories, including two heads, eight interchangeable hands, eight removable adamantium claws, a removable jacket, interchangeable arms with the sleeves rolled up and the ever-popular crotch grab figure stand.

The multitude of hands included here opens the doors to an enormous variety of poses Logan can take on for display, including gesturing forward, fists with and without claw holes, gripping and more.

Wolverine vs Sabretooth Mondo X-Men Animated Series Figures

Logan always looks rather angry, but it’s still nice to have both open and closed mouth portraits for him to vary how pissed your Mondo Logan figure looks on display.

Logan 2023 SDCC Mondo Exclusive Removable Jacket

Making the jacket removable was a work of genius, and I love the swap-in jacket-less arms.I might have liked a third head with a cowboy hat option, but otherwise this is really everything I’d ever want in an X-Men Animated Wolverine 11” figure. Now, let’s just get a Cyclops in the pipeline for Logan to hate on!

Mondo Magneto SDCC 2023 Exclusive 12 Inch Figure

The other SDCC 2023 Mondo X-Men exclusive figure is a bit of an unexpected one: an Uncanny X-Men variant of their 1:6 Magneto figure! Limited to just 500 pieces, Mondo is only making 1/3 as many of these Magnetos as they are of Logan, making this one seriously limited $225 Master of Magnetism.

2023 SDCC Magneto Mondo Exclusive Shadow Head

Despite being a limited release convention-only item, this variant of Magneto has some very cool and desirable exclusive features, including metallic purple paint and a super cool shadowy portrait helmeted head. For most characters an all-black head with white eyes could look cheap and peculiar, but in this instance it just feels reminiscent of my favorite comic book iteration of Magnus (from the Age of Apocalypse).

Mondo Magneto Unmasked 2023 SDCC Action Figure

With the retail release of the original Magneto Mondo figure now sold out many places, it makes good sense to get the quintessential X-Men villain back out there in some form to facilitate new collectors jumping onto the line. And thankfully, most of the accessories, heads and effects from the first version of this figure are also making a comeback for this release. With such a small fun size, I could see this being a blazing fast sellout for Mondo.

Uncanny X-Men Magneto SDCC 2023 Exclusive Toy Variant LE 500

For those not attending SDCC 2023, Magneto will go up for order online on the Mondo website Monday 7/17 at 10AM EST. Logan pre-orders will follow at 10AM on Wednesday 7/19. Magneto is ready to ship out immediately after orders are placed, with Logan taking a bit longer and arriving in January 2024.

What do you think of this duo of exclusive X-Men sixth scale action figures, Marvel collectors? Is this Magneto better or worse than the first edition, and are either of these must-haves for your X-Men TAS collection?
