Earl Sweatshirt has announced a concert to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his major-label debut album, Doris. The show will take place at the Novo in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 19. The rapper will perform the album front-to-back for the one-night-only event.

Earl Sweatshirt broke through with Odd Future when he was 16, releasing his debut mixtape, Earl, in March 2010. As the collective’s popularity grew, Sweatshirt quietly left the country to attend Coral Reef Academy in Samoa. At the time, Odd Future’s fans thought Sweatshirt was sent to Samoa against his will, and “free Earl” became a rallying cry at shows and online.

Sweatshirt made his triumphant return to Odd Future in 2012 when he surprisingly featured on The OF Tape, Vol. 2’s “Oldie.” As the year continued, Sweatshirt guested on songs by Frank Ocean, Flying Lotus, MellowHype, and more; he launched his Tan Cressida imprint through Columbia Records; and he released his first major-label solo single, “Chum.” Subsequent singles “Whoa” and “Hive” followed before Earl Sweatshirt released Doris on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.

Since Doris, Earl Sweatshirt has shared I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside (2015), Some Rap Songs (2018), Feet of Clay (2019), and Sick! (2022). All of his projects have been issued via Tan Cressida, but the latter two have come in partnership with Warner Records after the rapper ended his deal with Columbia.
