Those of you old-school shooter fans itching to get your hands on Apogee Entertainment’s upcoming Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition will be happy to know that the team of Apogee, Nightdive Studios and New Blood Interactive will have a demo available for you to try this June.

The remaster of the 1994 cult classic FPS will launch during Steam Next Fest: June 2023 Edition on June 19th. In addition to the demo announcement, the devs have a fresh look at the game’s new features and content over on the game’s Steam page, including content from the “lost” betas of Rise of the Triad, a level editor (with Steam Workshop support), new HUD (which includes Wolfenstein-like character portraits), multiplayer, character sprites, a brand new episode, and updated 4K visuals.

In the original Rise of the Triad, you play as one of five members of H.U.N.T. (High-Risk United Nations Taskforce). You’re tasked with investigating deadly cult activity on San Nicolas Island. As luck would have it, your boat is blown up after you arrive, and now you’ve got to stop the cult from blowing up Los Angeles.

Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition will be released in the near future on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Nightdive Studios will also be partnering up with Limited Run Games for physical Standard and Collector’s Edition versions of Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition.

And don’t forget to check out our hands-on preview of the game!
