Last year, Rolling Loud New York removed drill rappers Ron Suno, Sha Ek, and 22Gz from the bill at the request of the NYPD a day before the festival was set to begin. The law enforcement agency claimed that there would be a “higher risk of violence” if they took the stage.
Rolling Loud fielded a similar NYPD intervention in 2019, removing 22Gz, Pop Smoke, and three other drill artists from the bill.
