WWE is headed to Los Angeles with “WrestleMania Goes Hollywood” next month, which will be the 39th annual event from the company. On the road to “WrestleMania,” WWE has been releasing fun movie and TV spoofs featuring their top superstars, a throwback to a similar marketing campaign that was put together ahead of “WrestleMania 21” back in 2005.
In recent weeks, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch spoofed Joker while fellow real-life couples Montez Ford & Bianca Belair and Miz & Maryse took on Titanic and Top Gun, respectively.
In the latest “WrestleMania Goes Hollywood” promo video, Rhea Ripley heads to Hawkins to play the role of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) in a tribute to Netflix’s “Stranger Things.”
“The Eradicator of The Judgment Day unleashes her inner rage in the face of the growing pressure on The Road to WrestleMania,” the official video description reads.
Ripley, a member of the faction known as The Judgement Day, will square off against Charlotte Flair at “WrestleMania 39,” competing for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The match is a rematch from “WrestleMania 36,” where Flair beat Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship. We’re hoping for a different outcome at this year’s “WrestleMania” event.
“WrestleMania” streams live on Peacock on the nights of April 1 and April 2, 2023.
