Kanye West has been locked out of his Twitter account after posting an anti-Semitic tweet, BuzzFeed News reports and Pitchfork can confirm. The full tweet, as reported by BuzzFeed News and The Hollywood Reporter, read:
The social media platform removed the tweet shortly after West published it for violating its rules and guidelines. There is currently a notice from Twitter in the tweet’s place that reads: “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules.” Although West’s Twitter account is currently still live, a Twitter spokesperson told Pitchfork that “the account was locked for violating Twitter’s policies.” Pitchfork has reached out to Kanye West’s representatives for further information and comment.
Twitter’s action comes just one day after Meta restricted West’s Instagram account. The parent company to Instagram and Facebook is currently blocking West from posting new content, commenting, and sending messages, per its policy violation guidelines. Meta did not specify which content was removed from West’s account, however.
West had previously posted screenshots of alleged texts with Sean “Puffy” Combs aka Diddy on Instagram. In one post viewed by Pitchfork, captioned with “Jesus is Jew,” the rapper says, “Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me.” The post is no longer on West’s account. West later addressed Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Twitter, saying “how you gone kick me off instagram.” The post included an older photo of West, Zuckerberg, and others.
In March, West’s Instagram account was suspended for 24 hours after posting a slur targeting The Daily Show host Trevor Noah.
