Like A Dragon Ishin

We love a Yakuza game and with a host having dropped onto Xbox over the course of recent times, it’s a series that we’ve pumped many an hour into. But SEGA have got more for us and today they have not just pushed the rather brilliant Judgment series to PC via Steam, but have also announced – and dated – a trio of new Like a Dragon titles, of which Ishin! will be first out of the gate.

Revealed at the RGG Summit 2022 ahead of the Tokyo Game Show 2022, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have today confirmed that they’ll be launching Like a Dragon: Ishin! in 2023, along with Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name in the same year and then Like a Dragon 8 – the sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon – in 2024.

First up with be Like a Dragon: Ishin!. Releasing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC come February 21st 2023, you can get pre-ordering this one right now.

It’s a game that will whisk us off to 1860s Kyo as a solemn samurai’s fight for justice stands to change the course of Japan’s history forever. Draw your blade and join the revolution in this heated historical adventure.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! Key Features:

  • Over the top action and diverse weaponry: Engage in visceral combat that combines feudal-era firearms and swords as players switch between four different combat styles: Swordsman, Gunman, Wild Dancer and Brawler. A deep roster of varied weaponry marks the historic transition between classic sword fighting and modern armed warfare as players train and upgrade skills to unlock even more powerful abilities.
  • Historical samurai epic: An optional in-game glossary supplements context to the historical basis of the people, places, and events featured within Like a Dragon: Ishin!
  • Old meets new: Like a Dragon: Ishin! expands upon its 2014 Japan-exclusive predecessor with localization support, all-new content, exquisitely remastered graphics and enhanced capabilities for modern platforms in Unreal Engine 4.

You’ve got a couple of different options available should you wish to splash the cash right now and all digital pre-orders come with three bonus legendary weapons: the Kijinmaru Kunishige katana, Black Ship Cannons and Tsuyano Usukurenai legendary katana.

Further, pre-orders for the Digital Deluxe edition on all platforms grant five days of early access starting February 17th 2023.

  • Standard Edition – $59.99 – Digital copy of Like a Dragon: Ishin!
  • Digital Deluxe Edition – $69.99 – Digital copy of Like a Dragon: Ishin!; Early access starting February 17.; Six unique DLC that expand Ryoma’s cosmetics, weaponry, challenges and more.

Want more? Kiryu will be back in action in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, launching 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Steam. This classic high-octane RGG action-adventure sheds light on Kiryu’s perspective following the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life leading up to Like a Dragon 8.

And then come 2024 and you’ll find the highly anticipated sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, with release on those same formats of Like a Dragon 8 – a larger-than-life turn-based RPG.

Check out the trailers below and let us know what you think of this little lot by dropping into the comments. And don’t forget, you can roll with Judgment and Lost Judgment on Steam from today too.
