There aren’t many alternatives to the DualSense for PS5. Sony hasn’t been especially open to third-party peripheral manufacturers since the PS4 debuted. If you want a decent controller and wireless functionality, first-party is really your only choice. Fortunately, HexGaming decided to think outside the box, and it recently announced its Hex Rival Pro custom DualSense controller.

The Hex Rival Pro controller brings esports features to the DualSense

Hex Rival Pro Black

The Hex Rival Pro controller enhances a standard DualSense with a host of new features. The end result is a gamepad that has the look and feel of products like the Xbox Elite Series 2, and it retains the functionality of a first-party controller.

HexGaming describes the added features as:

1. COMFORT AND ERGONOMIC BUTTONS LAYOUT FOR OPTIMAL CONTROL

Use more of your hand, keeping thumbs on the Thumbstick. Back control functions reinvented the game and are the determining factor for competitive gamers. Enter remap mode with dedicated setting buttons on-the-fly.

2. ENHANCE PRECISION WITH INTERCHANGEABLE THUMBSTICKS

3 kinds of height and 2 ergonomic design, concave and domed thumbsticks for movement control or accuracy for different hand sizes and fit your playstyle. Get the edge in FPS esports games with better aiming accuracy.

3. HAIR TRIGGER CLICKY FOR ULTRA-FAST RESPONSES (Optional)

The Hex hair triggers decrease the triggers activate distance to just 2mm, all you need to do is press slightly to instantly launch a full fast shoot to save valuable time in competitive games. *These triggers do not work for racing games.

4.MORE OPTION FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE

Add comfort and grip with an unmatched faceplate and components that fit your controller’s look and feel. In addition, the backplate improves comfort and control.

Potential buyers should note that the FlashShot feature described in point 3 above is optional. It essentially removes the shoulder buttons’ adaptive triggers and analog functionality in favor of a short-throw and instant activation. This is helpful in shooters but makes some other games unplayable. So, if you’re planning to use it as your main controller, you might want to skip the FlashShot models.

The Rival Pro starts at $199.99 and comes in various color combinations (or you can customize your own). It’s available for purchase now on the official website.

In other news, Skull and Bones pre-orders are open, and The Crew 2 PS5 50 FPS mode arrives with Season 6.
