The most recent Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order update added fixes that make the Photo Mode filters on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S more consistent with those on PS4 and Xbox One hardware. Respawn Entertainment launched Jedi Fallen Order’s PS5 and Xbox Series upgrades in mid-June, giving current-gen console owners access to a boosted experience.

The current-gen upgrade for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order introduced two different graphics modes. Performance Mode (ON) allows PS5 and Xbox Series X to run 1440p resolution at 60 frames per second. Performance Mode (OFF) favors resolution, targeting full 4K visuals at 30fps. Xbox Series S, on the other hand, has its performance locked at 1080p/60fps, Electronic Arts explained in a blog post. With the upgrade came a few platform-specific issues, however, a number of which the crew at Respawn managed to tackle in the title’s latest patch.

Jedi Fallen Order’s June 29 update specifically targeted changes related to the current-gen versions. The patch notes on the Jedi Fallen Order subreddit (via Wccftech) informed players of the latest changes, the most notable of which altered the “Photo Mode filters to be more consistent with” the PS4 and Xbox One iterations of the title. Respawn addressed several other issues, too, such as fixing minor audio glitches related to Kashyyyk’s AT-AT sequence on PS5. The Sony console also suffered a few hiccups regarding character model clipping that should no longer trouble users. On the Series X|S, the patch eliminated various audio and visual bugs; it additionally took care of a BD1 glitch in a specific cutscene featuring AT-AT pilots.

Respawn will no doubt continue to improve the current-gen versions of Jedi Fallen Order by releasing updates that target known issues. How long such ongoing support may last remains to be seen, however, especially since the studio’s Star Wars group is likely hard at work on a Jedi Fallen Order sequel.

Electronic Arts and Respawn haven’t formally announced a follow-up entry, but there’s plenty to suggest that such a project will eventually see the light of day. The evidence includes job listings dating back to December 2019 and EA CEO Andrew Wilson previously teasing the publisher’s intention of further exploring the Cal Kestis-starring adventure.
