Deep Silver and developer inXile Entertainment are preparing you to re-enter the frozen wastes of post-apocalyptic Colorado with the upcoming expansion to Wasteland 3 entitled “The Battle of Steeltown”. The DLC is expected next month, and has a new trailer welcoming you to the eponymous town.
The story goes that Steeltown is a factory complex in southwest Colorado that manufactures all the tech that keeps the state running (along with those in power). But when deliveries start going awry, the Rangers investigating the situation find the industrial complex in disarray. Seems that there’s a bit of a revolt going on, and you can decide its outcome.
The new DLC promises new quests, new foes, new gameplay mechanics and more. Among the new mechanics are telegraphed attacks, non-lethal weaponry and stacking status effects that provide a new dimension to your battles, and offer more in terms of strategy.
Don’t worry if you think you’re going to be overpowered, either: the new DLC will scale the combat and gear when entering Steeltown, ensuring that you won’t arrive without any challenges.
Wasteland 3 (which we loved) is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and GOG.com. The Battle of Steeltown is due out on June 3.
