A family reunion may be on the horizon of The Flash season 7 — with Bart Allen actor, Jordan Fisher, teasing the return of Nora West-Allen. As the show’s titular speedster, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) has experienced several different timelines since debuting in the Arrowverse. Post-Crisis, he once again has faced a new and uncertain future. According to Abra Kadabra (David Dastmalchian), The Flash will become obsessed with it as the mysterious villain, Chronarch, loomed. As well as new threats, however, it was confirmed that it will serve up a new descendant in the form of Fisher’s Bart Allen (a.k.a. Impulse).

Created by Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo, Bart Allen first cameoed in 1994’s The Flash #91. He debuted fully in the next issue. On the page, the character was actually the grandson of Barry and Iris West-Allen. Instead, his parents were Meloni Thawne and Don Allen, one-half of the Tornado Twins. On the show, however, he will be reimagined to be Barry and Iris’ (Candice Patton) son. Though the exact nature of his presence has remained under wraps, he’s expected to first appear in The Flash season 7, episode 17. Still officially untitled, it will mark the series’ 150th episode overall. Though the news has been met with a wave of excitement (based on the character and the actor), many questioned how Bart Allen’s arrival could impact Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and her own future.

Posting on Twitter, however, Fisher teased that that question might be answered sooner rather than later. Presumably celebrating a day spent working on The Flash, the actor declared that he had met XS. As fans will recall, that was the official superhero name that Nora operated under. Equally, Fisher also mentioned meeting Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp). As such, fans seemingly have both an epic speedster and family reunion to look forward to in the coming weeks. Check out Fisher’s tweet below:

Garrick was last seen sacrificing his life during the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. Regardless, it was previously confirmed that the fan-favorite would make an appearance on the rebooted Earth-Prime in The Flash season 7. Furthermore, it was announced that Shipp would guest star as a Golden Age version of Jay Garrick on Stargirl season 2. The move will serve to further bridge the gap between Stargirl and the rest of the Arrowverse since the former’s official move to The CW. In terms of Nora West-Allen, she was tragically erased from existence during The Flash season 5, episode 22, “Legacy”. Regardless, it was repeatedly teased that a new version would one day emerge as a result of the timeline revisions.

The official return of Nora would no doubt provoke equal amounts of excitement from fans. Equally, it will prompt a whole host of questions. Firstly, how will the new version of Nora (and Kennedy’s performance) differ from before? And just how will The Flash depict the familial relationship between XS and Impulse? It would stand to reason that Nora will remain a child of Barry and Iris. As such, will there be an older/younger sibling dynamic, or will Nora and Bart together be the Arrowverse’s version of the Tornado Twins? Whatever the case, alongside further Bart Allen easter eggs, all will become clear in the upcoming episodes.
