Assassin’s Creed Valhalla developer Ubisoft has disabled the game’s currently running seasonal content to give the studio time to fix crashing issues surrounding the limited-time event. Players of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla have experienced more frequent crashing, particularly within or around the area of Ravensthorpe, the player’s base of operations, since the game’s latest 1.2 update was released. Ubisoft eventually acknowledged the problem and said that the issue will be fixed in the game’s next patch.
The game’s 1.2 update was released earlier this week, and apart from supposedly fixing a significant amount of the game’s ongoing issues, it also introduced several new features such as the much-requested transmog feature that allows players to change the appearance of their equipment to something within the same category for a price. The new update also added three new skills, including a new leap attack and two new item looting-related abilities, as well as a new camera option which brings the viewpoint closer to the character outside of combat. Lastly, the release of the 1.2 patch also introduced the content for the game’s Ostara Festival, its latest seasonal event.

Ubisoft announced in a recent Tweet that a server-side hotfix has been released to deal with the rising number of crashes players are currently experiencing in and around Ravensthorpe. The hotfix has removed settlement decorations as well as the decoration-related quests of the Ostara Festival, at the time of this writing. This latest message from Ubisoft comes only a few hours after the developer first acknowledged the rise in crashing incidents, so the move to disable part of the seasonal event and the settlement decoration feature in general may be to help curb the problem until the studio releases a full and proper fix next week.

The Ostara Festival, which is meant to run from March 18 to April 8, 2021, introduced several seasonal quests and activities for players to experience. Just like last year’s Yule Festival, this new event also features its own thematic festival grounds where players can partake in the aforementioned event quests and obtain the event’s rewards. While some of the activities from the Yule Festival have made a return, such as the fighting arena and drinking quests, the Ostara Festival has added some new ones as well including an egg hunt activity, among others.
Hopefully Ubisoft is able to deal with the crashing issues players are currently experiencing as well as some of the bugs that are being encountered in the ongoing Ostara Festival quests and activities. With what’s currently happening, it may be a good idea for the studio to extend the event’s duration to give players more time to enjoy and complete the event’s quests and obtain all the rewards. And with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s upcoming first expansion still a month away, there’s definitely some time to extend the currently running event.
