God of War: Fallen God, a four-issue mini-series by creators Chris Roberson, Tony Parker, Dan Jackson, John Roshell, and Dave Rapoza based on the popular God of War video game franchise, was originally scheduled to be released by Dark Horse Comics back in June 2020. However, due to last year’s Diamond shutdown thanks for the COVID-19 pandemic, the much anticipated comic set between the events of the God of War III and God of War (2018) was delayed to an unspecified new release date. They say good things come to those who wait, though, and God of War fans will be most happy to hear that Fallen God has finally been officially rescheduled for release in March.

Fallen God is the latest miniseries from Dark Horse to tie in to the hit video game series. Roberson, Parker, Jackson, Roshell, and cover artist E.M. Gist teamed for the publisher’s first tie-in series, titled simply God of War, back in 2018. In non-comics, Dark Horse has also released an artbook for the Sony Interactive video game, as well as Lore and Legends, a recreation of Kratos’s journal from in the game.

Check out Rapoza’s cover to the first issue and details on the series below. God of War: Fallen God arrives in store on March 10, 2021.

God of War Fallen God

Writer Chris Roberson (iZombie, God of War) and Eisner-nominated artist Tony Parker (God of War, This Damned Band) return to the world of God of War, along with colorist Dan Jackson (The Strain, The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys) and letterer John Roshell (Overwatch Anthology, Astro City), with covers by Dave Rapoza, for God of War: Fallen God.

God of War: Fallen God follows Kratos after conquering Zeus and thwarting Athena. Believing himself to be finally free of his bondage, he sets sail for the desert in an attempt to distance himself from his home and his shame only to find his rage and guilt follow close behind. Kratos rages against the one foe that has proven to be unconquerable—himself. But a war against oneself is unwinnable, and only invites madness.

God of War: Fallen God #1 (of four) goes on sale March 10, 2021, and is available for pre-order at your local comic shop.
