Diablo 3 – How to Defeat The Butcher in Darkening of Tristram

Even those who haven’t played the first Diablo before will find The Butcher immediately recognizable considering that they have to face off against the same boss early on in Diablo 3‘s main story as well. Players will most likely remember that this boss is a very heavy hitter and a considerable challenge to newcomers to the game. In the standard game, the boss has several different attacks that the player has to be worried about, but luckily the Darkening of Tristram’s version is much simpler.

Players will face off against this version of The Butcher during the second level of the Labyrinth just like in the original game. While similar in nature and appearance to the standard game’s version, The Butcher here only has two attacks that it can use against the player: Quick Smash and Heavy Smash. While there are fewer attacks to keep track of the players need to keep in mind that they now deal drastically higher damage than usual. Here is what players should look out for:

Quick Smash – With this attack The Butcher will just swing its weapons at the player. A good idea is to step backward when he goes to swing to avoid taking damage from him. Stronger players can tank these hits if they so desire in order to dish out more damage against him though.

Heavy Smash – Players need to be extremely careful when this attack is triggered. They will hop in the air twice in a row, so when that happens move quickly to the left or right. He will then slam his weapon directly into the ground which causes massive amounts of damage. This has the potential of taking out weaker characters in one hit.

Players just need to remember to look out for these attacks and keep up the offensive to bring this enemy down as quickly as they possibly can.
