Earlier today Mezco has opened the pre-order for their Static Six – Conan the Cimmerian 1/6 Scale Statue. I have been looking forward to this statue since they teased it at NYCC last year. I’m a big fan of the Marvel Conan Epic Collection which is written by Kurt Busiek and this statue of Conan very much reminds me of the artwork in the stories. The detailing in this statue is quite honestly breathtaking throughout. His physique is very defined and I love the details in the head sculpt and the clothing it’s so well done. Also, the diorama base looks fantastic too.
I didn’t think that this statue would be this big. From the title, I thought it would be a 6″ scale one until I looked closer at it and realizing how much it costs!
I really love that this statue features a number of interchangeable pieces so you can change how Conan looks on your display and quite honestly I wasn’t expecting such variety, The addition of the removable soft-goods cape is a nice touch and I love that he comes with a helmeted head featuring the iconic helmet from various Conan stories. With the weapons affixed to some of the hands is a great touch so you don’t lose any of the accessories nor risk breaking them either if you tried to put them in Conan’s hands.
I would personally love to get this statue but I don’t have the money for it and I’m sure Mezco will release more Conan statues in the future if this one’s a success and I would love to see a King Conan one from the comics sometime down the line
