A cool new photo shows Emily VanCamp on set for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The forthcoming Marvel/Disney+ series has encountered numerous production difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That being said, the show is set to feature titular characters Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).

VanCamp is known for her role as Sharon Carter in the MCU. Sharon has worked as both a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and a member of the CIA. She also happens to be the great-niece of S.H.I.E.L.D. founder Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), who is Steve Rogers’ (Chris Evans) central love interest. However, Sharon and Steve end up sharing a passionate kiss in Captain America: Civil War, which was met with decidedly mixed reviews from fans. Although Sharon hasn’t been seen since Civil War, it was later revealed that she was a victim of Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) infamous snap.

A new photo from onset.unseen shows VanCamp on the set of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. VanCamp sports a shoulder-length, curly hairstyle and has on a blazar embellished with buttons. She appears to be surrounded by two crew members, both of whom are wearing masks. You can check out this cool, monochromatic image below:

Sharon Carter isn’t the only familiar face who will return in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It’s been confirmed that Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl) and Batroc the Leaper (Georges St. Pierre) will both appear in the upcoming series as well. Baron Zemo’s most recent appearance was in Civil War, so it will be interesting to assess how his character has changed since then. Batroc the Leaper, on the other hand, was last seen as a S.H.I.E.L.D. captive, although he presumably escaped after HYDRA took over. As for Carter, when she last appeared in Civil War she was working for the CIA and she may continue to do so in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. One of the conflicts set to be explored in the series is that between Falcon, Cap’s chosen successor, and U.S. Agent, backed the U.S. government. Having Carter remain a CIA agent would thrust her right in the middle, testing her loyalties once again.

To that end, it’s exciting that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is bringing back these Marvel characters, and fans are more than ready to see all three actors working together on this project. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will introduce several new faces as well. In fact, a set of Marvel toys confirmed that Wyatt Russell’s John F. Walker will appear as the new Captain America. Although Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes will still be at the heart of the series, it’s fun to slowly piece together the show’s talented cast. While The Falcon and the Winter Soldier won’t release for quite some time, viewers are counting the days until the two are back in action.
