On October 17, the Spike Lee–directed adaption of David Byrne’s American Utopia premieres on HBO and HBO Max. Today, a new teaser trailer for the film has been released. Watch below.
David Byrne’s American Utopia ran from October 2019 to February 2020 at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre. The show, which shares its name with David Byrne’s Grammy-nominated 2018 album, features music from throughout Byrne’s career, as well as a cover of Janelle Monáe’s “Hell You Talmbout.”
