Larian Studios recently announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t launch this month as planned, but we’ll be getting more information on the game on August 18.

Larian made the announcement on Twitter, stating that it won’t be releasing Baldur’s Gate 3 in Early Access this month as intended. Check out the tweet below.

“Good news and bad news,” the tweet reads. “Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t hit August, but it’s just around the corner. We’ll be announcing the release date, as well as big news on the Panel From Hell alongside Geoff Keighley, Swen Vincke, and the Larian crew. Tune in Aug 18th.”

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Panel From Hell livestream will be viewable on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 website, and will kick off at 10am PT on August 18, 2020.

Although Larian has been relatively tight-lipped on Baldur’s Gate 3 so far, we do know some things. For example, yes, you can bang all of your companions in Baldur’s Gate 3, but romance will be more than just a simple reward.

“We want to have jealousy,” Larian Studios senior writer Adam Smith told VG247.

“We want to have just great joy in it, as well. But yes, we don’t want it to be a case of, ‘you brought me the gift that I like the most, so you got +50 affection.’ It’s much more based on how you deal with them, and the things you do. So when I say, ‘everyone’s romanceable by everybody else,’ that’s not in every playthrough.”

Meanwhile, although Larian Studios originally said that consoles couldn’t handle Baldur’s Gate 3, it has since said that the game might come to console eventually.
