Last night NECA revealed some new products from Alien & other sci-fi properties. Here’s a breakdown of what they revealed:
- Alien 40th Anniversary Series 2 packaging Shots of Brett, Parker and bloody Big Chap
- Alien 40th Anniversary Series 3 revealed Ash, Kane and Ultimate Big Chap Alien
- Kenner Rhino Alien V2 with Kenner colors
- Assorted weapons for unknown figures (possibly They Live ultimate figures)
- Cryptic heat vision effect teaser for an unknown figure
- Preview of the Terminator 2 Ultimate John and Sarah Connor packaging
Series 1 of the Alien 40th Anniversary figures have just recently hit stores and at SDCC this year NECA has revealed the lineup for Series 2 and 3. In series 2 we’ll be getting Brett, Parker and a bloody Big Chap Alien which we could of guessed woud be the figures in that series.
We knew that Ash would be coming as we saw a preview of him at Toy Fair and when Ian Holm sadly passed away earlier this year NECA changed their social media picture to that of the figure. Now we are getting a closer look at Ash and the other figures that’ll be making up the rest of the wave a re-release of the Ultimate Big Chap Alien without the accessories and a brand new figure of Kane with the likeness of John Hurt which just looks incredible. We also get a lot of accessories too and yes we’ll be getting an undamaged dome helmet for Kane.
The Rhino Alien was very popular and NECA are re-releasing it but in the more traditional Kenner colors.
Then they moved away from the Alien reveals and teased some other licenses. The first teaser was for some weapons and I firmly believe that the weapons are from They Live. I know that NECA is releasing a Retro John Nada so maybe this is for a 7″ Ultimate They Live Nada and Frank two-pack. Or I could be wrong. Though I do hope we see more John Carpenter film figures from NECA.
The other teaser was a eye blast effect and that can be for literally anything, it could be for the Defenders of the Earth line which NECA revealed at Toy Fair. Or it could be something new for a license we don’t know about yet.
Then finally NECA showed off the final packaging for Terminator 2 John and Sarah Connor Ultimate figures using cover art from Cavity Colors who recently released a series of Terminator 2 shirts. Some of these figures will be released later this year such as the Terminator 2 and Alien figures.
