The developers of Half-Life: Alyx are “not afraid of Half-Life” any longer, and would like to create a new game in the series for more traditional platforms.

As noted in Half-Life: Alyx – Final Hours, a fifteen chapter article from Geoff Keighley, the game’s development team would like to develop a “full-scale” Half-Life game for platforms other than VR.

According to the article, which is available as an app through Steam, the team feels with Half-Life: Alyx, the “ice has been broken,” and they are no longer “afraid of Half-Life.”

“This ice has been broken, now we’re hoping to smash through the ice completely,” said Valve level designer Phil Co. “We’re not afraid of Half-Life no more.”

That said, some members of the team are unsure whether there is enough personnel to create a new game in the series (thanks, GI.biz).

If you download the app, which will set you back $9.99, it also provides a look at the development of Half-Life: Alyx; how it was the sixth attempt to create a game in the series; and information on Source 2 experiments spanning an RPG project, an open-world Left 4 Dead game, and even Half-Life 3 for a short amount of time.
