Assassin’s Creed Valhalla creative director Ashraf Ismail has announced he is stepping down from his position.

Ashraf Ismail, the creative director of Assassins Creed Valhalla, announced his departure today on Twitter.

According to Ismail, he is stepping away from his role in order to focus on personal issues.

The personal issues he is referring to are allegations of infidelity which surfaced on Twitter earlier this week.

In a statement to Eurogamer, Ubisoft said he is taking a leave of absence, and during this time the team will remain “committed to delivering a great game.”

Ismail also worked on Assassin’s Creed: Origins as the game’s director, and was the single-player game director of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
