Although David Murphey finally met his Ukrainian girlfriend Lana on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Daysa happily ever after still seems far away for this couple. Lana is real, but her behavior on the dating website where she met David should be a cause for concern for the Las Vegas resident.

Through the majority of David’s journey on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, most fans assumed that his girlfriend was a catfish. She lived in Ukraine, but David didn’t even have her number. Instead, he communicated with her through a dating website that he had to pay for and could only access on the computer. During their seven-year “relationship,” David tried to meet Lana numerous times. Each time, she stood him up and only offered thin excuses, including that she simply “changed her mind.” After failing to meet Lana five times, David hired a private investigator who told him that there were numerous profiles using Lana’s name and picture. The investigator believed that Lana was a professional scammer, but David insisted that all the other profiles were fake.  In a certain way, his stubbornness paid off. After more than seven years of contact, David shockingly met the real Lana during yet another trip to Ukraine.

Although Lana is a real person, that doesn’t mean she’s not a scammer. Her behavior on the dating website where she met David raises a lot of red flags that should concern her partner. During her first interview, Lana explained that she set up a dating profile to find a worthy man to marry. When the producer asked Lana why she only looked for foreigners for herself, she refused to answer. Her lack of response indicates that she was looking to get out of Ukraine and that her desire to talk to David was more about getting a visa than about genuinely caring for him. Then, Lana admitted that she had met men from the dating website before. When asked what kind of relationships resulted from those meetings, Lana again refused to answer.

While Lana’s own answers are concerning enough, there is also evidence that Lana is still on these dating websites. Her picture has been discovered under numerous names (via Reddit) and she continued to date on the website after meeting David in person (via Cheat Sheet). In fact, she talked to many American men to increase her chances of getting the K-1 visa. That information backs up what the private investigator told David about Lana being on multiple dating websites. While David refused to believe it at the time, there is obviously some truth to what the man was saying.

All this behavior should raise massive red flags for David. Lana seems to want nothing more than a visa or some kind of financial support from her dating website conquests. Plus, she met up with other men before she met up with David. If she wasn’t afraid to meet those men, why did it take her so long to meet David? Lana’s dating website activities suggest that she doesn’t really care about David. In fact, she even doesn’t seem to care about him as much as some of the other men she talks to. Even though she’s real, Lana’s dating website activity still suggests she’s a scammer.
