Trace Mountains: Lost in the Country [Lame-O]

Former LVL UP member Dave Benton makes music as Trace Mountains, and Lost in the Country is his second full-length record. He wrote the album during a period of transition, following the 2018 end of LVL UP and his relocation from Brooklyn to Hudson, New York. Ahead of the LP’s release, Benton shared “Lost in the Country,” “Rock & Roll,” and “Me & May.”

Laura Marling: Song for Our Daughter [Partisan/Chrysalis]

Laura Marling’s new album Song for Our Daughter was originally scheduled to arrive this summer, but the singer-songwriter decided to move the release date up because of the COVID-19 pandemic. “In light of the change to all our circumstances, I saw no reason to hold back on something that, at the very least, might entertain, and at its best, provide some sense of union,” she wrote in a statement with the arrival of the new song “Held Down.”

DJ Python: Mas Amable [Incienso]

Influenced by the multilayered rhythms of his hometown of Miami, producer Brian Piñyero developed a distinct “deep-reggaeton” sound as DJ Python. His new album Mas Amable follows last year’s Derretirse EP and his 2017 debut Dulce Compañia. Check out Pitchfork’s track review of “ADMSDP.”
