Emerging as one of the most popular entries to the ever-growing genre, Call of Duty Warzone provides one of the premier battle royale experiences on the market. Combining the classic Call of Duty feel with realistic first-person shooter mechanics, Warzone is a title filled to the brim with tension. Making use of the polished Modern Warfare engine Warzone is a pseudo-realistic shooter that provides players a variety of satisfying and efficient guns at their disposal. The game combines all the elements that make Call of Duty such a popular series and adds them to arguably the most addicting genres on the market. Creating, arguably, the best battle royale experience to date.
Part of what makes Warzone so popular is its more realistic take on the first-person shooter genre. Providing an array of classic guns from the series and upping their efficiency ten-fold, it is not a rare occurrence for a player to die in an instant in Warzone. With this high-risk high-reward style of play in mind having some way to avoid direct combat is a must for survival. This is where the introduction of vehicles come into play, as they provide excellent mobility and cover options. However, with the variety of vehicles inside of Warzone’s map, understanding which one is the most effective to keep your squad alive is a must. This guide will illustrate which vehicles are the most effective and which are the least useful within a match of Warzone.
The Worst Vehicles in Warzone
Not all vehicles in Warzone are created equally, in fact, there are a few vehicles that are truly insufficient for a player to utilize. Although, none of the vehicles in the game are “useless” there are some that are simply weaker than others. Classifying these vehicles in a comprehensive, “good or bad” list there are a few things to take into consideration. The first being their ability to protect the members of your squad, their speed, their size, their durability, and a few other factors.
The ATV
Using the ATV in Warzone is begging an enemy player to shoot you from behind. These vehicles provide absolutely no cover in a fire-fight and rely on their sheer speed to protect their driver. While it is true that the vehicle is one of the fastest on land, that does not make it the go-to choice for any player. It also has a hard two-player limit for its capacity. Making it both inefficient and susceptible to an attack. If there are no other options for vehicles, the ATV will do a sufficient job but should be traded for another the moment it is possible.
The Cargo Truck
This addition to the weakest vehicles list may come as a surprise to many players. It provides the most cover, it has the most amount of seats for a vehicle, and it is hyper-durable. So what makes this vehicle so inefficient? The answer is rooted in its mammoth size, slow speed, and lack of cover from an attack behind the truck. The bigger the vehicle does not make it a better option for survival. It is effectively a rolling target for players that have established cover or rocket launchers, making it easy to hit and disable. While it is extremely durable, the ability for enemies to unleash a barrage of bullets on the Cargo Truck making it a certified bullet sponge. It also provides no cover for your teammates if the enemy positions themselves behind you, allowing for frequent downing of your squad members.
The Best Vehicles in Warzone
These vehicles are the most ideal options for a squad looking towards victory. They provide excellent cover, speed, and capacity making them the cream of the crop of the available vehicles. Having any of these vehicles in your possession is an almost guaranteed top 20 placement if they are used effectively.
The SUV
The SUV is a smaller, faster, and safer version of the Cargo Truck. Where the Cargo Truck fails to protect its passengers from ambushes coming from behind the vehicle, the SUV provides protection on all sides. It not only outpaces the Cargo Truck, but it outclasses it in protection. While it is not as durable as the Cargo Truck, it is still a solid option to protect players from enemies unloading clips into the car.
The Tactical Rover
Driving the Tactical Rover is like combining the best parts of the ATV and the SUV into one vehicle. It provides decent cover and maintains near blistering pace on the battlefield. With plenty of seats for players to choose from, which allows them to protect the car from nearly all angles, hitting the Rover is nearly impossible in the right hands.
The Helicopter
It comes with no surprise that the Helicopter is considered by many to be the best vehicle within Warzone. The list of strengths that the Helicopter completely overshadows its few weaknesses. While it is not particularly durable, the Helicopter makes up for this weakness by providing an incredible positional advantage in a firefight. It essentially provides a positional advantage over even a squad housing in a large skyscraper. It is unmatched in speed and is difficult to put down if an enemy team doesn’t have a rocket launcher of some kind.
Given all these strengths, it is easy to imagine how players will scramble to have this vehicle in their possession. So be wary when trying to claim the Helicopter for yourself, as you’ll probably have to fight tooth and nail against other like-minded players. However, once it is in your possession, the Helicopter can potentially lead a team to a top 10 and even a number one spot during a match of Warzone. So if at all possible try and claim the Helicopter for yourself, as it is, arguably, the best vehicle in the entire game.
Call of Duty Warzone is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
