No Man’s Sky allows players to hatch their own living, breathing spaceships within one of its newest updates. This guide will help players unlock the ability to hatch a living ship. No Man’s Sky is a game that has received constant updates since its release back in 2016. The game originally released with negative reception, as the primary critiques with the game, consisted of false advertising towards its consumers. As the years have gone by, the game has received a significant amount of updates, including plenty of quality-of-life improvements, new missions, and the ability for the player to hatch their very own living spaceship. This guide will help No Man’s Sky players learn what it takes to hatch a living ship.
The Living Ship update brought along a new rare class of sentient spaceships to add to the player’s star fleet. Unlike mechanical spaceships, these have their own set of unique organic technologies to craft and build. It may seem a bit strange to fly around the cosmos in a living creature, but its a pretty unique addition to No Man’s Sky and breathes new life into the game. Aside from gears, players are now equipping these ships with Pulsing Hearts and Grafted Eyes, creating these strange Frankenstein-like creatures. This guide will help players hatch the living ships in No Man’s Sky.
Hatching a Living Ship in No Man’s Sky
The player will first need at least 3200 Quicksilver. These can be collected by completing daily and weekly quests. Head into space and summon the Anomaly. Here, players can get a Void Egg. Once the player receives the Void Egg, warp around space to random destinations. After a while, the player will receive a message and the quest “Melody of The Egg” will start. Keep warping around until receiving all 13 messages. The 13th will provide the player with a galaxy location. Head to this galaxy then onto a planet to find a Portal.
Search around the planet for the Portal, input the Glyphs from the messages received earlier in the order they were given. This will open a portal to a new planet. Another message will be received telling the player to “Watch for us in the stars”. Now, go back into space and fly around until an anomaly is discovered. This is a living ship and this will start the Starbirth mission. Follow the instructions given for the Starbirth mission and the game will provide the player will a relic to build a ship component. Follow the Void Egg’s instructions for all the required parts and the player will now have a Living Ship.
The Living Ship is a neat addition to No Man’s Sky. Not only is it strange, but it provides a new layer of ship crafting never seen before in the game. There’s a wide variety of living ships as well. Players can craft so many different types and have an entire fleet of just living ships. The game has vastly improved over the years due to constant support from its developer, Happy Games. As the game continues to evolve, more interest seems to be returning to give No Man’s Sky another chance.
No Man’s Sky can be played on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
