Actor John Krasinski is a popular choice on the internet to play the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s eventual Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four, and he seems to be popular choice with Krasinski himself.

In an interview promoting the release of A Quiet Place Part II, his writing and directorial follow-up to his own suprise hit, Krasinski matched Comicbook.com‘s enthusiasm when they suggested he land the role.

“So I’m sorry in advance. I know you can’t answer if you’re going to play Mister Fantastic, but you have to play Mister Fantastic, right?” asked Comicbook, to which the writer-actor-director replied, “Oh my God, that’s the best… That’s the best question-answer ever.”

As for his answer?

The actor, who famously was a finalist for Steve Rogers/Captain America before it went to Chris Evans, replied, “I would love to do it. I think to be a part of the Marvel world would be amazing anyway, and the fact that people would even consider me for that level of a part would be amazing. I genuinely have had no conversations or don’t know anything that’s happening with that. I’m awaiting Kevin’s announcements of what the hell’s happening with that as much as you are.”

Kevin as in Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.

And this isn’t the first time Krasinski has lobbied for the role.

“Oh yeah, the Fantastic Four. I would love that!” Krasinski said almost two years ago when asked a smilar question. “I mean listen, I’m still getting into the whole superhero thing. I didn’t read comics as a kid, not as many, I read some but not as much, but I’m a huge superhero fan so yeah, I’d love to do something like that. If they’re are any left, a lot of these have been taken but the ones that are left, yeah, I would love to do something like that.”

Comicbook also notes and mentions to Krasinski Marvel Comics appears to be illustrating Mr. Fantastic in a way since the FF’s return that reminds readers of the actor, a dynamic that played out over a decade ago when Marvel began having artists illustrate the Ultimate Universe’s Nick Fury in Samuel L. Jackson’s likeness, who of course went on to iconically take on the role in the MCU.

Given Krasinski’s triple-threat status as an acclaimed writer and director of a box office smash in addition to actor, perhaps fans should consider him a candidate to write and direct the MCU’s Fantastic Four as well.

Add in his real-life wife Emily Blunt as the Invisible Woman and MCU fans will be delirious.
