Hildur Guðnadóttir Wins Nordic Music Prize for Chernobyl Score

Experimental composer Hildur Guðnadóttir has won the Hyundai Nordic Music Prize 2019 for her soundtrack to the HBO series Chernobyl. She took home the award over Pom Poko, Jenny Wilson, and others. Hildur follows previous Nordic Music Prize winners Robyn (2018), Susanne Sundfør (2017), and Jenny Hval (2016).

Hildur Guðnadóttir had a breakout year in 2019. In addition to releasing her Chernobyl score, she contributed to SUNN O)))’s Life Metal and Pyroclasts and also scored Joker. Hildur’s Joker work earned her Best Original Score at the Oscars and Golden Globes.
