Actor Keanu Reeves loved Cyberpunk 2077 so much he pushed to have his original screentime doubled.

Italian voice actor Luca Ward, who dubs Reeves’ character Johnny Silverhand in the game’s Italian iteration, revealed the Matrix actor played a central part in getting double the Keanu content into the game than was originally planned. Speaking to journalist Gian Luca Rocco, Ward adds that he ended up doing twice as much dubbing to record all of Silverhand’s lines.

Reeves’ role as Silverhand in the game is crucial. In fact, he’ll accompany the player for almost the entirety of the game. He’s not a companion NPC, more like a phantom in protagonist V’s head.

Because of this, Keanu Reeves recorded a lot of dialogue for the game. In fact, according to CD Projekt RED CEO Marcin Iwinski, it’s the second biggest volume of spoken lines in Cyberpunk 2077, just behind the main character. It took Reeves and the team 15 days to record the entire script.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out on April 16, 2020.
