Supergirl: Being Super‘s Mariko Tamaki has signed on to curate a line of LGBTQ+ graphic novels through publisher Abrams, as announced via the New York Times.

Named Surely Books, the imprint will feature both fiction and non-fiction stories focusing all aspects of life as a queer person – from triumph to tragedy.

The first two titles for Surely Books will be a biography of novelist Patricia Highsmith by Grace Ellis and a biography of Revolutionary War hero Baron von Steuben by Josh Trujillo and Levi Hastings. A third title, this time a fictional story by Terry Blas and Claudia Aguirre, was also announced.

“I am so excited to have this opportunity to take on a new role in the creative process, to learn more with the writers and artists I’m working with, to find new ways to support queer creators and queer stories, new voices in our community,” said Tamaki in a statement.

Surely Books will launch in Spring 2021.
